Ottawa Bluesfest and think this is the year I'll trek out and impose myself on my in-laws for a few days. Then I take a deeper look at the day-by-day schedule and realize that there really isn't a day that appeals to me enough to do it.
This year is no different. It's a large and eclectic line-up, ranging from Wu-Tang Clan to Rush to Animal Collective, but there's not enough to make me want to go on any particular day.
Since a number of the acts (Belle & Sebastian, She & Him, Camera Obscura, Flogging Molly, Frank Turner, Neko Case) will also be playing the Toronto Urban Roots Festival during the same opening weekend, the impetus is lacking.
Of course, if you live in Ottawa and can dine out on the entire ten day roster it's a completely different animal.
