This week's entertainment picks: Afghan Whigs, Jens Lekman

The fall concert schedule is in full swing with an incredible line-up of artists coming through the Big Smoke this week.  Here is my futile attempt to whittle it down:

Afghan Whigs, The Phoenix, Oct 3
Nothing is going to be quite as triumphant this week than the return of Greg Dulli and the Afghan Whigs to Toronto.  Sure, he's done a ton of stuff since the band split up, but there's a special throat-stripping spark that happens when they are all together.

Jens Lekman, The Phoenix, Oct 4
It's the most circled day on the calendar for folks who love Swedish indie pop when Lekman comes to town.
