When I think about Shoegazer as a genre the first thing that comes to mind is walls of feedback and guitar squeal (which I love by the way). That's certainly not the case for Toronto band Permanent Vacation. They've taken a definite Shoegazer sound and mellowed it down.
Have a listen to their single "Motel", which seems to owe just as much to The Stone Roses as it does to Ride:
The band are currently working on a proper album.
