Quick Hits: An Horse, Adam Levy

Another week and I am still crawling out from under submissions. Here are the things I couldn't shoehorn in this week:

An Horse, Walls
Australian duo Kate Cooper and Damon Cox released their sophomore album a couple of weeks ago.  Unlike most boy/girl duos, An Horse avoids all of the typical blues rock traps that similar combos seem to fall into nowadays.  While they still make a clattery racket, the songs are much more melodic this time around.  They are lots of fun, and nice folks to boot.

An Horse play the Mod Club in Toronto on May 16th with Manchester Orchestra.

Adam Levy, The Heart Collector
This is the new album from Levy, a singer-songwriter who has played guitar for the likes of Norah Jones, Lisa Loeb, and Roseanne Cash during his career.  This is a pretty stripped down affair.  The majority of the songs feature little more than Levy singing with an acoustic guitar.

If you're looking for an intimate record to absorb and get lost in, this is a good bet.
