Random List: favorite hockey songs (video)

We are once again on the eve of another exciting NHL season. I thought this would be a great time to take a look at some of my favorite songs about the world's most graceful and brutal sport. So here are my top hockey songs:

10. "3AM Spanish"- Hockey

Okay, not techincally ABOUT hockey, but the band's name makes it okay.

9. "Hockey"- Tsunami

Even indie rock icons like Mary Timony get into the game.

8. "Hockey Sweater"- Dala

The newest entry on the list is this track from the alt.country duo.

7. "Gretzky Rocks"- The Pursuit Of Happiness

In less than 2 minute TPOH are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

6. "Hockey Skates"- Sarah Harmer

A more delicate song for the more elegant side of the game.

5. "Fifty Mission Cap"- The Tragically Hip

Telling the story of Bill Barilko and how is fortunes intertwine with those of his Maple Leafs.

4. "Time To Go"- Dropkick Murphys

The celt-punks love their Bruins and this is a fitting tribute to the Big Bad team.

3. "The Hockey Song"- Jughead

Probably the funniest song about hockey, it demonstrates Canadians' insatiable appetite for the game.

2. "Hockey Night In Canada Theme"

You hear the anthem and you know it's going to be a great time. This to me brings back more childhood memories than anything else in the world. Stupid CBC.

1. "The Hockey Song"- Stompin' Tom Connors

The good ol' hockey game IS the best game you can name. And this is the best song about that game.
