Voting in our Polaris Music Prize poll has now closed and it was a tight one right down to the wire.
The winner by a nose was probably not surprisingly our readers' choice was Chad VanGaalen's Soft Airplane (21%), edging out Metric (18%), Great Lake Swimmers (15%), and Fucked Up (14%). The field was rounded out by Joel Plaskett, Hey Rosetta!, Patrick Watson, K'Naan, Elliott Brood, and Malajube (in that order).
We'll see how the opinion of our readers matches up with the Polaris jury.
The Polaris Prize Gala will take place in Toronto on September 21st. You'll be able to stream it via MuchMusic or listen to it live on Sirius/XM.
