Random List: Favorite Jayhawks songs

The former Jayhawks tandem of Mark Olson and Gary Louris are set to release their frist album together in several years.  Ready For The Flood comes out this Tuesday (Jan. 27th).

As a result, I thought this would be a good time to honour the pair with my list of my favorite Jayhawks songs.  After all, the band was at the forefront of the alt.country movement that's snowballed across the indie music scene.

So here are my top 10 Jayhawks songs:

10. "Tailspin"

9. "Wichita"

8. "Big Star"

7. "Miss Williams' Guitar"

6. "Crowded In the Wings"

5. "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me"

4. "The Man Who Loved Life"

3. "Better Days"
It references 'making love in the Toronto rain'.  How can I not like it?

2. "Blue"
Still the band's most successful single.

1. "Take Me With You (When You Go)"
Kind of like a slow paced twangy "Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go)"

Did I forget one of your faves?  Let me know!

Gary Louris and Mark Olson play the Mod Club in Toronto on Feb. 4th
