Best of 2008: EPs

Today I've decided to look back on another category in music: the underappreciated and underutilized EP.

Best EPs of 2008

10. Princeton- The Bloomsbury EP
This west coast band put together something short and boppy.  Review

9. Brandi Carlile- Live In Boston
She proved she was more than pop rock with this EP which includes a cover of "Folsom Prison Blues". Review

8. ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead- Festival Thyme
This EP was an excellent teaser for the band
's forthcoming 2009 album.  Review

7. Community Gun- Community Gun EP
Imagine if Tom Waits fronted a garage band and you'll get the idea.  Review

6. Dare Dukes- Prettiest Transmitter of All
Yes it is.  Review

5. Paul Spencer & The Maxines- Either Sunset Or Sunrise
Have a Replacements craving.  Get this EP.  Review

4. Graham Lindsey- The Mine
Lindsey released a full length with this companion EP.  Get the EP.  Review

3. Nicole Atkins- Digs Other People's Songs
I'm a sucker for covers.  I'm a sucker for Nicole Atkins.  Dangerous combination.  Review

2. Cory Chisel & the Wandering Sons- Cabin Ghosts
Great roots songs from the Am
erican heartland.  Review
1. Library Voices- The Library Voices EP
This Canadian act comes as close to perfect indie pop songs as one can get.  Review

Where did I screw up?
