Best of 2008: non-studio albums

With lots of year-end lists to get through I thought I should give you the second installment.

Today I present you with:

Best non-studio albums of 2008:

10. Portastatic- Some Small History
A massive b-sides collection from the Superchunk side project.  Review

9. Belle and Sebastian- BBC Sessions
Great live in studio and in concert collection.  Review

8. Bob Dylan- Tell Tale Signs
A double CD and latest edition in Dylan's "bootleg" series.  Review

7. The Pogues- Look Them Straight In The Eye and Say: Poguemahone!
A 5-CD box set of demos, alternative versions, outtakes, b-sides, soundtrack recordings, and live stuff from the best drinking band in the world.  Review

6. Greg Dulli- Live At The Triple Door
The first solo record from the AfghanWhigs/Twilight Singers/Gutter Twins frontman.  Review

5. Eddie Spaghetti and Jordan Shapiro- Live At the Double Door
The Supersuckers are one hell of a live band.  This solo set reinforces that.  Review

4. The Jesus and Mary Chain- The Power Of Negative Thinking
A 4-CD box set of b-sides, rarities, and more from the shoegazing trailblazers.  Review

3. The Clash- Live At Shea Stadium
Finally the release of the complete legendary show.  And it does not disappoint.  Review

2. The Replacements- reissues
Each and every 'Mats album remastered and expanded with tons of bonus material.  These were eight near-perfect records to begin with, and they only get better.  Review

1. Lou Reed- Berlin: Live At St. Ann's Warehouse
30-years after it's release, Reed finally plays the classic album live.  And we have this to document it all.  Review
