Library Girl and I are still plugging away at our project of watching all 100 movies in the American Film Institute's top movies of all time. That probably explains why we've only gone out to see a movie once this year (Quantum of Solace).
Here are my thoughts on our recent conquests:
27. Bonnie & Clyde (1967)
The movie had some decent action and humour, but Warren Beatty's just plain annoying. Watch Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid instead.
26. Dr. Strangelove (1964)
I really love this Kubrick film about nuclear holocaust. Peter Sellers is just plain hilarious and hello, James Earl Jones is in it.
25. E.T. (1982)
Everyone's seen it. There's an annoying kid, a very young Drew Barrymore, and an alien that says "oooooooooouch". Blah from where I sit. I didn't really even like it as a kid.
24. Raging Bull (1980)
Scorcese's filming of the movie is nothing short of incredible. Unfortunately, the film itself drags and lacks enough backstory or character development to make you actually give a hoot.
23. The Maltese Falcon (1941)
One of my favorite movies of all-time. It's got to be the best of the film noir detective stories.
So there you have it. More to come!

2 praise/complaints:
I was disappointed in Dr. Strangelove. I had high hopes, but it just didn't do it for me. I'm glad you liked it though. Currently, we're watching a bunch that don't thrill me so I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised by at least one of them.
Yeah I know. I'm holding out hope for either One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest or Chinatown.
