AC/DC: Black Ice- Album Review

You have to admire someone who does one thing and does it very very well.

Many artists feel the need to experiment and explore different sounds.  Luckily for us that's never been the case with AC/DC.  You know when you pick up and AC/DC record that you're going to get in-your-face hard rock.  The new Brendan O'Brien-produced album Black Ice is no exception.

From the opening riffs of "Rock N' Roll Train" the boys from down under bring their blues-infused attack straight to you.  Nothing fancy, nothing gimmicky.  Lots of songs about rocking however.

Songs like "Big Jack", "Rock N' Roll Dream", and the exceptional "War Machine" will slip very easily into a live set alongside AC/DC classics.

Unlike many of the band's most recent efforts, Black Ice manages to not wear out its welcome.  The album, clocking in at a whopping 15 tracks, keeps up the intensity and doesn't really lull at any point.

You can have your Animal Collective.  I'll have more fun driving down the highway blaring "Wheels".

AC/DC play the sold out Rogers Centre in Toronto tonight and again on Jan. 9th.

Best tracks: "War Machine", "Stormy May Day"
