TV On the Radio: Dear Science- Album Review

TV On the Radio is one of the most highly regarded indie rock bands on the planet.  After the enormous success of 2006's Return to Cookie Mountain TV On the Radio were on top of the world.

Having heard lots of negative evaluation of the album prior to its release, I have to say that those saying ill of the new album Dear Science have no idea what they are talking about.

While there is nothing as immediately catchy as "Wolf Like Me", Dear Science is one of the most enjoyable albums I've heard this year, both artistically and for shear listening leisure.

Yes, "Wolf Like Me" and other other tracks really broke through he ceiling for TV On the Radio.  However, it's the smooth, funky and cool post-rock soul of songs like "Crying" and the bands desire to push the boundries of indie rock by employing the saxophone, violin, viola, cello, flute, trumpet, clarinet, and god know what else in the pursuit of make TV On the Radio the most musically proficient band on the scene.

While there is no one track as catchy as "Wolf Like Me", the album has no shortage of post-rock tracks that will make the listener fall for the music.

Most indie rock fans you hear will no doubt bash TV On the Radio.  However, I think this is one of the best and most original albums I've had the pleasure of hearing all year.

Given a fair listen, you have to agree that songs like "Red Dress", "Golden Age", and "Crying" are like nothing else on the indie rock landscape.

Dear Science is one of the most understated and underestimated albums I've heard in a long time.  I can only hope that it gets the response that it truly deserves.

Best tracks: "Dancing Choose", "Golden Age"
